2013 WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S

Despite chilly conditions at the start, the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s helped bring in more than $380,000 on Oct. 6, 2013.

The one-mile and/or three-mile walk, put on annually by the Alzheimer’s Association – Heart of America chapter, saw 310 teams made up of 3,172 walkers work together to help advance support, care and research against the disease.

We had seven volunteers help out throughout the morning, cheering on the walkers as they arrived at the finish line before helping clean up following the festivities. For more details on the charity’s next event, visit www.alz.org.
