SOCKTOBER IS HERE
We posted the below video last week on our Facebook page, but we decided to go one step further. Thus, we are officially proclaiming it Socktober here in Kansas City.
If you didn’t watch the attached Kid President video, here is the skinny. There are 600,000 people without a home on any given night in the United States. Therefore, in conjunction with Soulpancake and Kid President, we are striving to prove that even the smallest acts of love — like donating a pair of socks — can make a big difference in the lives of the homeless.
For the next three weeks, we will be collecting socks as well as any other clothing donations you are willing to part with. Then, on Nov. 2, we will deliver all of the donations to City Union Mission,Morning Glory Ministries and the Sheffield Place.
So, what we need from you is the following: 1) clean socks or other washed clothing donations that are still in good condition; 2) to spread the word. Plaster this link with #Socktober #KC on your Facebook account, Twitter handle, Instagram profiles and any other social media sites you use . Doing that alone will be a huge help to get the word out.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can even hold a mini-drive among your co-workers, classmates or church groups. Let’s show how much Kansas City cares about Kansas City.
For donation drop-off directions, e-mail us at [email protected]. Also, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Kid President has spoken — it’s Socktober and we’re here to help Kansas City answer the call.
