Lights On! to brighten lives affected by domestic violence

Newhouse Shelter seeks volunteers for their House Party 2015: Lights On!, an annual fundraiser that benefits women and children dealing with domestic violence.

Newhouse’s mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence by providing the tools that allow women to make positive choices and lead self-sufficient lives. The charity does this by providing temporary shelter, food, clothing, individual/group counseling, children’s therapy, child care, educational classes, legal advocacy and more.

House Party 2015: Lights On! will be held at the InterContinental Hotel at 401 Ward Parkway Nov. 21, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and fun entertainment provided by Illusionist and Magician, Tyler Korso. The after party from 9-11 p.m. will brighten the night with a disc jockey, dancing and refreshments for Lights On! guests.

Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help transport auction items, set-up, and assist with various stages of the event. If you are interested in helping illuminate a path to a life of independence and safety, contact us at [email protected] to volunteer.
