Are you checking your bank account right now? Shopping online to prepare for your holiday celebration? Are you standing in line outside of Best Buy? Wal-Mart? Target? Regardless, we’re glad you’re reading this because we’ve got something to say.
First, we want to tell you about #GivingTuesday. If you’ve never heard of it before, it’s the internationally celebrated day of generosity following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. All around the world, communities rally together to give generously. Today, #GivingTuesday lands on November 29, and there are many ways you can participate, starting now!
Are you standing in line?
Whether you’re waiting outside a store or waiting to checkout – take this time to set a budget for Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping. How much are you going to spend? Be realistic. Now right this moment – decide how much you want to give on #GivingTuesday.
We are challenging you to give more, give smarter and give greater this season. Set yourself a goal – and exceed it. We believe that if the Kansas City community can rally together, big change is possible, but it starts with you.
Are you shopping on Amazon?
Did you know that you can simultaneously shop and give back when you buy on Amazon. They have a really awesome program set up called Amazon Smile. If you follow this link, our The Call KC profile is synced with your Amazon account. So this means that every time you make a purchase, a small percentage is donated to The Call KC.
This is such an easy way to give back and requires little to no effort. Once your account is linked – anytime you make a purchase on Amazon the donation will be made.
Consider Donating this #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday provides a really cool opportunity to rally together a spirit of generosity. Get your friends and family involved. Start a donation pool. Make a change.
Know where your donation is going.
At The Call KC, we are transparent about what your money will be going towards. This #GivingTuesday, all the money that we raise will be put towards our youth programs.
We as an organization firmly believe that by investing in youth, you can change a community. If kids are introduced to service at a young age, they see it less of “going out of their way” and more of a lifestyle. If we can change a generation to see service as a way of life – that could change everything.
Donate to The Call KC this #GivingTuesday. Start making a difference in your community.
