2013 Heartland Borderwalk for MS: preview
We are taking our first group out for a great cause next month.
On June 8, eight of us will be heading out to Olathe to help facilitate the 2013 Heartland Borderwalk for MS. Since May 2009, the Heartland Borderwalk Foundation has hosted a weekend of walking once a year to raise funds and awareness for the battle against Multiple Sclerosis.
The inaugural trek was a 3-day, 50-mile event that saw 23 walkers raise over $50,000. This year the walk will stretch over two days and 35 miles, beginning on June 8 and ending the following day. Money raised will go towards research and patient assistance for those living with Multiple Sclerosis and to help the families and friends who support them.
And so, for our first venture as an organization, we will be helping these wonderful people not only donate their time and money, but also their bodies. To participate in the walk or to find out more about the Heartland Borderwalk Foundation, visit www.msborderwalk.org.
Also, if you have time to donate a couple of hours on June 8 and wish to volunteer with us, we would love to have you. Contact us at [email protected] for more details.
We’ll post more about the event as it gets closer so stay tuned.
