TWO UPCOMING YOUNG VARIETY EVENTS NEED VOLUNTEERS
Young Variety is an arm of the Variety Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City, which provides local children with special needs the adaptive equipment and opportunities necessary for activity and inclusion.
For more information on Young Variety, which is aimed for young adults, check out their listing in our charity directory. Yet, more urgently, keep reading to find out how they need our help in the upcoming weeks.
On Sept. 21, the group needs 100 volunteers to help sell raffle tickets throughout Kauffman Stadium as the Kansas City Royals host their “Shirts Off Their Backs” promotion. Winning ticket holders will have the chance to meet Royal players on the field after the game and receive actual autographed game jerseys.
Best part – all ticket sale proceeds will go directly to Variety Children’s Charity.
If you’re interested, please contact us at [email protected]. Group participants are welcomed and wanted. Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 4:30 p.m. at Gate D and help sell tickets through the sixth inning. From there, participants are free to watch the game. Game tickets and parking passes will all be provided.
Young Variety’s second upcoming outing will be the American Royal “Dead Poultry Society” party held on Oct. 4. The benefit will directly support the charity, thus volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts to help with various tasks including serving food, working the front door, running the mechanical bull and selling raffle tickets.
Group volunteers are welcomed and encouraged. Volunteers will be reimbursed for their American Royal entry ticket as well as a complimentary entry to the Dead Poultry Society party, where one can enjoy food and drink before, during and after their volunteer shift.
