SMNW STUDENTS CLEAN AT SHAWNEE COMMUNITY SERVICES
Five students from the Interact Club at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School recently decided to spend their off day helping the local community.

On Oct. 24, 2014, the group swept, dusted and mopped the Shawnee Community Services facility when their school had a scheduled day off. Instead of spending the entire day on themselves, the teenagers gave up two hours to help an organization that is constantly helping the needy in Shawnee.
It’s the definition of volunteer service and a perfect example of why this organization exists — because there are people in Kansas City that care about others.
Thanks to efforts of SMNW Interact, and those of the nine volunteer groups we’ve helped organize and schedule over the last two weeks, our overall impact numbers now sit at: 1,202 hours of service by 413 individual volunteers in 19 months.
