Stronger Communities, Stronger Futures: ScrapsKC Is Packing Power Into Backpacks

This summer, Uncover KC is excited to support local students and educators in a Back-to-School Supply Drive that is hosted by and benefits Scraps KC.

Last year, ScrapsKC’s Teacher Resource Center provided over 160,000 pencils, 28,500 art supplies and nearly 9,000 classroom books to teachers — worth a total of $731,831! These critical supplies helped students participate in classroom work and have access to materials they may not have otherwise had.

This year, their goal is to reach 60,000 supplies. These materials will power Scraps KC’s Teacher Resource Center and provide more resources for educators and their students.

Beginning July 7th, Scraps KC is hosting an all-hands on deck school supply drive. There are several ways you can get involved and provide more resources to more teachers:

  • Host a physical donation drive — You can organize a traditional supply drive at your company, with your team, religious group, neighbors and more!
  • Give online — Support the drive virtually! With our online drive, you can purchase the supplies teachers need most.
  • Donate — When you financially contribute to ScrapsKC, you’ll help reach their goal and expand their impact.
  • Volunteer — Bring your group to volunteer at ScrapsKC this summer. Every hand helps.

From hosting a physical collection drive to promoting a virtual supply drive, there are several ways to get involved this summer. Together we can ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed. Let’s build a stronger, more sustainable future for education in the KC region.
