Join UKC’s 13th Socktober!

October is just around the corner and UKC is gearing up to host our 13th Socktober. 

When the months start to get a littler cooler, our unhoused community members can struggle to stay warm. That’s why we’re excited to join other communities across the nation in collecting and donating socks and other winter clothing items. 

Socktober is a month-long national initiative designed to bring warmth to those who need it most. By gathering new socks and other cold-weather essentials throughout October, you’ll make a tangible difference for local shelters, the unhoused and deepen your connection to the our community. 

It’s easy to join the cause. Use the sign-up form below and start collecting items alongside your loved ones, colleagues, or neighbors. At the end of the month, UKC will reach out to coordinate the pick-up and donation to local shelters here in the KC metro area where your generosity is needed.

After 12 years of participating in Socktober, over 62,000 warm clothing items, such as socks, coats, gloves and more, have been donated. Can you join us this year to keep our community warm?
