Front Porch Alliance

Impact

The mission of Front Porch Alliance is to work together with residents of Kansas City, Missouri’s eastside and urban core to meet their changing needs at home and in school. Since their founding, Front Porch Alliance programs have expanded to offer training, peer support, and community connections to youth, families, Elders, and residents of Eastside Kansas City, Missouri, especially folks living in zip codes 64109, 64110, 64128, and 64130.

Volunteer opportunities include assisting with Front Porch Alliance’s Early Head Start program, Nurturing Parenting program, Youth journeys program that provides seven STEAM-based programs for school-age youth, and their Community Connections that assists Eastside KC residents with minor home repairs, adult education classes and quarterly community events.

Front Porch Alliance’s new program, PALs (Partners in Active Learning) is also seeking volunteers. This is a weekly 1 hour commitment between 9a to 1p to work 1-on-1 with students to help with academic gains as well as social and emotional learning. Training, materials and supplies are provided.
