The American Red Cross’s mission is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.​ American Red Cross of Missouri serves Missouri and surrounding communities in Illinois and Kansas with disaster relief, life-saving blood, training, certifications, and support for members and families of the armed forces.

Volunteer opportunities include assisting with blood collection and transportation, being a donor ambassador, joining a Disaster Action Team and helping with shelter and health services during crisis situations.
