Produce Sorting with Kanbe’s Markets

Kanbe’s Markets‘ mission is to build a more inclusive food system by transforming food loss into food access. Working to serve the most vulnerable in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area while reducing unnecessary waste of nutritious foods discarded into landfills.

Volunteers are needed on Monday, September 29, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, to help towards the goal of redirecting three million pounds of food in 2026. Kanbe’s Markets invites you to join us for one or more shifts with Produce for the People. Volunteers play a vital role in sorting donated produce into their four redirection tiers, ensuring that every piece of food finds its best possible use

Volunteer opportunities include: sorting produce, organizing distribution crates, warehouse staff support, and additional opportunities.
