Greetings everyone! For my monthly message, I’d like to make a direct appeal for help. We’ve been graciously selected to recruit and manage volunteers for the Downtown Open, an urban golf tournament along the brand new Kansas City streetcar route on Saturday, May 21.
For our efforts, The Call KC will receive a $1,500 donation if we can locate 40 volunteers. The catch is 20 of those volunteers will require simple training the night before and an extended shift the day of the event. They also need to be 21 years or older. The followings volunteers are needed:
20 trained volunteers from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-hour training will take place the night before on Friday, May 20. Tasks involve sitting at the chip/putt stations and making sure participants adhere to all rules.
10 untrained volunteers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help with set-up and registration
10 untrained volunteers from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to help with clean-up and teardown
The day is going to be a blast, but we need your help. The donation we receive from this event will greatly impact our organization, as well as the charities we serve, extending our operating runaway by at least two months.
With all that said, you can register here. Select “volunteer” and then hit “order now” to fill out your info and desired shift. If you haven’t volunteered with us recently, this is a great way to get involved and help advance our mission. As always, we appreciate any support.
