CATHOLIC CHARITIES SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
It was once said that giving is not just about making a donation; it is about making a difference.
Since 1879, Catholic Charities have made it their mission to transform communities through hope-filled care, service and advocacy. Through the help of volunteers, its local chapter, Catholic Charities of Kansas City and St. Joseph, has helped empower nearly 150,000 people each year in our community, alone.
They provide housing, workforce development, education, emergency assistance, senior care, disability support and healthcare services to those in need.
Catholic Charities strives to continue to make a difference in the Kansas City area. In order to do so, they need volunteers.
Specifically, they are looking for volunteers to help run their welcome center, which can see up to 80 people per day, as well as organize donations and assist with light clerical duties. Computer-savvy volunteers are also needed to aid in building resumes and assist with job searches. Additionally, they need help gathering supplies and leading people to emergency response areas.
Ideally, they are looking for long-term volunteers. However, they will take any help they can get. The welcome center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will work with volunteers anywhere during that time.
With your help, Catholic Charities can continue to impact millions of lives. For more information, contact Jennifer Singleton at 816.659.8262 or [email protected].
