The basic concept of this nonprofit is that we simply ask groups to help us help others. We recruit volunteers, then match them up with charities that need them. It’s a simple notion, but one we find to be lacking currently in our communities.
Ultimately, we want to be a catalyst for service. We want to cause a positive change in the Kansas City area, which we then plan to expand upon. Step one of that process has been volunteering, which has taken place almost weekly since we started this whole thing back in April 2013. For evidence of that, just check out this website’s archives.
Step two is growth, which has been steady but not astronomical over the last 12 months — until now. This past week, we began a partnership with Alpha Phi Omega, a service organization at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In interest of space, the cliff notes entails us finding multiple service opportunities for their 400 members on a weekly basis.
That’s right — 400 members and counting. The massive increase in volunteers is a great achievement for us, as we will now be able to schedule more service outings over a larger area span at a quicker rate. It also means that our mission is working. The bump takes us pass 600 volunteers for the last year and a half.
Therefore, with that in mind, we want to capitalize on this momentum. Contact us today to line up a volunteer outing for you, your family and friends. We will customize the event to fit your needs (time, location, cause, etc). At the very least, spread the word about us, or tell us about a charity that may need volunteers — we got plenty.
The basic premise of this nonprofit is to ask people to help us help others. We have been and it’s working. Yet while 400 is a great number, 401 is even better.
Contact us today to volunteer.
