Pets for Life, Inc.

Impact

The mission of Pets for Life, Inc. is to enhance the care and treatment of people in local hospitals, nursing homes, shelters for domestic violence, mental health programs, treatment centers for youth and corrections facilities through the use of certified therapy teams of pets and volunteers.

Volunteer opportunities include taking carefully screened pets on visits to hospitals, nursing homes, shelters for domestic violence, mental health programs, treatment centers for youth and corrections facilities in the Kansas City Metro area. Volunteers can visit up to 200 facilities a month with their pet. Volunteers and their pets must go through a pre-test, team evaluation and a shadow visit to become a volunteer team. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
