Guadalupe Centers Cinco de Mayo Festival

Established in 1919 by a Catholic Women’s Club as a volunteer school and clinic for the Latino community settling on Kansas City’s historic westside, Guadalupe Centers have grown to be the heart of the Latino Community.

Dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of low-income, children, youth, and families of all ethnicities, Guadalupe Centers are the longest continuously operating agency serving the Latino community in the United States, serving over 20,000 individuals annually. Guadalupe Centers’ Cinco de Mayo festivities are held at Guadalupe Centers 1015 Avenida Cesar E Chavez location. This three-day event features a full lineup of local and regional entertainment, folk dancers, unique vendors, games and activities for all ages, and traditional Mexican food and drink.

Volunteers are needed to assist with various roles but most importantly in the evenings with clean-up and set-up, running food and other goods, and servers for food and drinks in the many concession stands that vendors will have from 5 p.m to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 3, Saturday, May 4, and on Sunday, May 5.
