Organization Summary: Formed in April 2013 by two friends searching for genuine impact, Uncover KC (UKC) focuses on building bridges between those who want to improve their community and those who need help doing so. Since that launch, UKC has recruited over 53,000 volunteers and helped them complete more than 113,000 service hours, leading to $2.8 million in valued impact for local organizations. This collective impact is made possible through our civic engagement services and programs.
Position Summary: For this multi-site and multi-program organization, the Vice-President has an external-facing role that helps administer UKC programs and services as well as an internal-facing role that helps with overall operations and organization management. There is a heavy emphasis on people skills, community outreach and establishing standards of performance across all services provided.

Compensation Range: $55,000 annual salary plus full benefits packaging (upwards of $15,000)
Assist with the creation and implementation of the organization’s annual strategic plan.
Work with the president and leadership to coordinate annual operations and budget plans.
Guide the performance management processes that measures and evaluates progress against goals and priority projects for the organization.
Provide staff strong day-to-day leadership presence; bridge external and internal operations and support an open-door policy among all staff.
Lead and manage the organization’s directors as well as volunteer staff and interns.
Schedule and track committee meetings and project engagement for the following committees: marketing, recruitment, events and development.
Oversee current technology infrastructure and scope of specific programs and the organization overall.
Help identify geographic growth opportunities and priorities for targeted committees and projects.
Cultivate the values of Uncover KC within the organization.
Instill human capital development and continue the cultural competency growth within Uncover KC.
Upgrade human resources functions as needed, including: training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and recruiting.
Provide timely communications and weekly staff updates to assigned paid and volunteer staff.
Attend weekly monthly event committee meetings and other UKC events as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the UKC President and organization leadership.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
High school diploma or higher preferred.
2-3 years of experience in nonprofits, social services or leadership required; community organizing or nonprofit management experience highly desirable.
Proficiency in social media platforms and Google Apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Hangouts, etc.
Knowledgeable of volunteer management and its corresponding 3 R’s — recruitment, recognition, retention.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated individual with creative problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and task-focused.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines weekly, sometimes daily.
Displays good judgment, takes initiative and is eager to learn as much as to teach.
Responsive to direction and feedback; comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for UKC’s mission.
This position operates primarily in a professional, collaborative office environment that is fully accessible.
This role uses standard office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, copiers, scanners).
The position is required to talk, hear, stand and walk, and to handle, feel and reach.
Work Schedule and Benefits:
40 hours of work per week; 160 total per month.
$55,000 annual salary plus full benefits packaging total (upwards of $15,000).
