On February 18, the First Christian Youth group spent their day volunteering across Kansas City.
That’s why The Call KC is so important. They are exactly what I’ve been looking for. By making it easy to find opportunities, they enable us to go out and make a difference
Trends come and go, however, the value in knowing where your money goes is constant. Buy a T-shirt today and join us as we use social entrepreneurship to give back to our Kansas City community.
When I originally sat down to write this year-in-review post, I was ready for the victory lap. From our number of volunteers and completed service hours to the new partnerships and projects to our funding and staff increases, 2016 was our best year ever as organization. Want to roll the dice for a cause this December? Sign up for KC2040's most popular event, The KC2040 Poker Tournament. With one entry you'll get to play poker, a bottle of booze, a cigar, beer, and the chance to enter some awesome raffles - all while giving to Paws 4 Autism and Urban Christian Academy.
I think we can all agree this year's political cycle has been a circus, and by no means do we here at The Call KC plan to become a part of it. So, without endorsing nor denouncing a vote for this upcoming measure, please take a second to learn about the Children's Services Fund of Jackson County.
You can feel it in the air, that crisp greeting of fall. A season full of pumpkins, warm drinks and cozy nights – but for some it’s got a darker side. On any given night, over half a million people are experiencing homelessness in the United States. Are you ready to make a difference this season? Socktober is a great way to start.
This is BIG NEWS for us here at The Call KC. As many of you know, education is a huge part of our work. We believe that when introduced at the right time, service can become a way of life for anyone. However, to make our education programs possible, it’s important that we expand on our Corporate Partner Program.
On Sept. 10, KC Crew will be putting on the 5th annual End of the World Pub Crawl. This year, the event organizers will graciously be donating a portion of the proceeds to The Call Kansas City's upcoming youth and education programs for the 2016-17 school year. But we need volunteers!
